UV water-resistant glass ink

UV resistant glass ink

UV (UV curable) ink refers to ink that, under the irradiation of ultraviolet light, uses different wavelengths and energies of ultraviolet light to polymerize monomers in the ink binder into polymers, causing the ink to form a film and dry. UV ink also belongs to ink. As ink, they must have bright colors (except for special circumstances), good printing adaptability, and suitable curing and drying rate. At the same time, it has good adhesion and features such as wear resistance, corrosion resistance, and weather resistance.

UV ink is very suitable for printing glass products, but its poor water resistance has been a problem for ink developers both domestically and internationally, and has also hindered the promotion and application of UV ink on glass. In response to this situation, Ito Ink Coating Chemical Technology Research Co., Ltd. has summarized years of experience and lessons in UV ink research and development, broken through traditional thinking, and recently developed a water-resistant UV glass ink N-GL9000.

This new type of UV ink has the following characteristics:

This ink is resistant to low temperature freezing. After multiple cold and hot cycles, the adhesion of the cured glass product remains unchanged. In addition, water-resistant UV screen printing glass ink can also be used for printing ceramic and metal products, which is very suitable for mass production of electrical colored crystal glass. It has no solvent evaporation pollution and greatly shortens drying time compared to traditional baking types, saving electricity costs.

2. Water resistance. Glass products cured with UV ink can withstand immersion in tap water for more than 30 days, and the hardness and adhesion of the cured film are not affected.

3. This UV ink solidifies quickly and does not require heating treatment. After printing with the new UV glass ink, it solidifies directly without the need for further heating treatment, giving the ink layer water resistance. Moreover, this ink does not contain volatile solvents, has no odor, does not clog the screen, and solidifies quickly, which not only improves production efficiency but also facilitates multi-color printing.

4. This new type of ink has a high surface hardness. After curing with water-resistant UV glass ink, the surface pencil hardness reaches 5H~6H, the adhesion is strong, and the finished product can be cut freely without the ink layer cracking.

5. This ink has excellent solvent resistance. After curing, UV ink can resist the erosion of general organic solvents, and the hardness of the cured film and its adhesion to glass are not affected.
